Free Community Event – Shelter Brewery Co Busselton
Meet Jack Ultra-Cyclist! – an extreme athlete holding multiple world records and a Guinness World Records badge to his name. Scotch alumnus, Jack ‘Ultra-Cyclist’ Thompson will be joining us after his world-record attempt of riding 1067km ‘non-stop’ along the Munda Biddi Trail to break the current world record. We are hosting a very special event with Jack & project partner, digital mental health and wellbeing platform Oqea on Wednesday 29th November.
Get ready for a night of inspirational storytelling of incredible resilience and true grit, what it takes to become a new World Record champion while managing mental health challenges and giving back to the community and our youth. This in-person event promises to be an unforgettable experience.

My team and I will be delivering an exciting social impact project this November in Western Australia – The Munda Biddi Dreaming project.
At the heart of the project is my personal DREAM to succeed in riding the 1,067km Munda Biddi Trail against a clock that never stops and establishing an Ultra Cycling World Record, commencing in the Shire of Mundaring and concluding at Centenary Park Albany – an expected journey time of 2 1/2 days.
As a professional Ultra Cyclist, living with mental health challenges, I’m passionate about giving back to the community. My vision is to share my journey through the storytelling of the physical and mental challenges I faced in preparing for the project, the attempt and its outcome and inspire the next generation of dreamers that in life you can DREAM big and succeed.
I will be sharing my DREAM with an estimated 5,000 children and communities of Albany, Nannup, Manjimup, Vasse, Busselton, Mundaring and Perth (Scotch College).
The Munda Biddi Dreaming project will be captured by a documentary crew who will produce a 15-minute documentary. We anticipate releasing the documentary in January 2024 at an exclusive sponsors and key project partners invitational evening.

Tim has been in senior leadership and strategic development roles for more than twenty years. He is currently Director of Executive Education in the School of Business and Law at Edith Cowan University and is a past Assistant Commissioner and General Manager in the public service. He is an Accountant (FCPA) and sits on the Divisional Council of CPA Australia.
Tim has been involved in racing mountain bikes, BMX and triathlon for many years, both as a father of two children who race and as a past and current bike racer. Tim is the current over-50 State Champion in downhill mountain biking. He is also a very regular and enthusiastic transport cyclist; frequently seen in a suit and tie riding to meetings in the city on a mountain bike.

Denise Sullivan has a career spanning over twenty years in senior management and executive roles in the state public and not-for-profit health sectors.
In her usual role of Director Chronic Disease Prevention with the Western Australian Department of Health, she leads the development of state chronic disease and injury prevention policy and planning frameworks and contributes to the shaping of the national preventive health policy agenda.
Her professional interests cover many aspects of chronic disease and injury prevention encompassing health communications, health promotion and research, public policy on health and workforce planning and development.
She has a particular interest in furthering collaborations with other sectors with a mutual interest in promoting a more active and healthier WA community, and creating and sustaining environments that support this. Denise is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Leadership WA Signature Program, and an Associate Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and the Australian College of Health Service Managers.
Denise is a recreational cyclist and recent convert to mountain biking (although trainer wheels still on!).
