Event Details:

The Kings Park Early Bird Series is comprised of seven events running on a Tuesday morning from mid-October 2023 through to early January 2024, hosted on Lovekin Drive among the stunning trees of Kings Park and immediately adjacent to the Perth CBD, with the first rider starting at 06:00.

Riders are invited to choose from either a time trial or road bike category, with each event being 17km comprising of 5 laps of the Lovekin Drive circuit which is fully closed to vehicles for the duration of the event. The entire seven race series can be entered as a whole, or as individual events, depending on your schedule.

With live results being available through WebScorer, it is a great opportunity to bring your mates and race it out for bragging rights before grabbing a coffee and heading into work for the day. Registrations will be at The Pines carpark adjacent to the start / finish line, with the main parking and toilet facilities being at the Whadjuk carpark, and limited parking at the Botanic Gardens carpark.

Of course, we can’t run these events unless we have volunteers, so if you know somebody who can donate their time, please guide them to the ATTA website (https://www.atta.asn.au/events), choose the corresponding event and look for the text “To volunteer for this event click HERE.” and click the link which will create a proforma email to send to us.

Being an ATTA 2023/24 Member entitles you to a $10 discount on race entry fees for each event, so if you wish to become at ATTA Member, or you need to renew your ATTA Membership, you can do so HERE.

Important things to note: There is a maximum field size of 140 for each event and no practice laps on Lovekin Drive from 06:00 once racing has started.

Important things to note: ATTA carries a Sports Injury policy through SRG Group which includes medical benefits up to $1,200, physiotherapy benefits up to $1,200 and death and capital benefits of $50,000 only with a $25 excess. Loss of income, student allowance and domestic home help are not included.

Tim Roach

Elected Director | Off Road

Tim has been in senior leadership and strategic development roles for more than twenty years. He is currently Director of Executive Education in the School of Business and Law at Edith Cowan University and is a past Assistant Commissioner and General Manager in the public service. He is an Accountant (FCPA) and sits on the Divisional Council of CPA Australia.

Tim has been involved in racing mountain bikes, BMX and triathlon for many years, both as a father of two children who race and as a past and current bike racer. Tim is the current over-50 State Champion in downhill mountain biking. He is also a very regular and enthusiastic transport cyclist; frequently seen in a suit and tie riding to meetings in the city on a mountain bike.

Helen Sadler

Independent Director

Helen is a Town of Cottesloe councillor and is the current Chair of WestCycle’s Transport Advisory Group.

A medical doctor, Helen is a strong active transport advocate with a focus on health outcomes and social well-being.
