Boorloo Bridge complete but what about the rest of the bike network? 🤔

Only 30% of bike routes in Perth and Peel are considered "adequate" by the Department of Transport

As regular riders know, there are many gaps in the bike network and getting to / from high quality bike paths and between destinations can be very hard.

Despite record investment in cycling infrastructure, only 30% of bike routes in Perth and Peel are considered “adequate” by the Department of Transport. Even less of the regional bike network exists.

You can actually see how much of the planned bike network exists, is planned or needs work in your local area in this map

This is why WestCycle has published our 2025 WA Election priorities, which centre on the need to accelerate the delivery of the Long-Term Cycle Network.

Check out our election asks on behalf of WA bike riders at: https://westcycle.org.au/2025-wa-election-priorities/

Completing the bike network benefits everyone, including drivers, by reducing congestion and pollution, saving people money on transportation, and creating safer, healthier, and more connected communities.
