WestCycle have been advised that to maintain the long-term stability of the river’s edge, the City plans to replace a section of the river wall along Mounts Bay Road, as outlined in the map below. To move forward with the design process, the City of Perth will carry out essential underground services locating work along the dual-use path next to the river wall, as detailed below (weather permitting).
Date: Scheduled to commence on Monday, 11 May 2026 and is expected to be completed by Friday, 15 May 2026.
Time: 8:00pm to 5:00am (night works)

Project Impacts
- One west bound lane on Mounts Bay Road will be closed.
- Shared path closure will be in place to facilitate the works.
- Access will be maintained for businesses, residents and pedestrians at all times; however, delays should be expected. For your safety, please follow the pedestrian and road detour signs around the work site.
- Traffic controllers will be present on site to help pedestrians and cyclists cross the work zone safely.
During this period, approved traffic and pedestrian management will be in place. Noise from equipment during work hours can be expected; however, noise will be kept to a minimum in accordance with the approved noise management plan.
