Hello yellow! Just an hour’s drive from Perth, the Canola Classic has quickly become one of WA’s beloved mass participation rides through in-bloom canola fields in the stunning Shire of York

Choose one (52km) or two (93km) loops on quiet, undulating Avon Valley roads after departing York township at 8am. The rides are designed to be accessible, but are challenging with 600m and 1200m of climbing over the two routes. The rides are fully supported with an aid station where you can replenish with Winners nutrition products and more.

Enter as an individual or as a team – sharing the ride and clocking a collective team time with prizes up for grabs for best-dressed road units!

The Canola Classic celebrates cycling but also the region and families – why not make a weekend of it to explore the Avon Valley’s wildflower trails, check antique fairs, visit miniature railways, take hot air balloon rides, stargaze and hit farmer’s markets, eateries and wineries, and more! Find out more here.

This year we’re expanding the event village with live music, festivities and activities for the whole family and supporters. Savour a steaming cup of freshly brewed coffee or tea over a snack or meal as you soak in the surroundings, while the kids enjoy a bouncy castle, novelty lawn bowls, AFL football exercises and more.

And let’s not forget the post-event celebrations! Share your ride’s epic moments and boasting rights over a complementary hot, post-event lunch at the York Recreation Centre!

See you in York!

A DISTANCE - 93km

‘A’ Distance takes on the rolling Avon Valley loop twice to put 1200m of climbing in the legs over 93km and some fun, flowing descents!

There’s a refreshment station half way around, plenty of picture opps if that’s your thing, and a final short haul back to the finish line. Job done!

B DISTANCE - 52km

‘B’ Distance is accessible to most bike riders at 52km – but with 600m of climbing, it’s more than a pootle to the shops!

A couple of pre-excursion training rides into the Perth Hills or any hills is recommended so you can maximise enjoyment of the lush scenery riding along solo or in a team!
