WA Govt backs trails expansion with latest grants round

WA government commits $300,000 a year for the next three years with $5000-$50,000 grants available.

The WA Government is not resting on its laurels when it comes to the State’s world class trails network, with a fresh round of trail planning grants announced worth almost $1 million over the next three years.

WestCycle Mountain Manager Margaret McIlroy rode up to Parliament House recently to find out more from Sport and Recreation Minister, David Templeman MLA, and Member for Thornlie (and unofficial ‘Minister of Cycling’), Chris Tallentire MLA.

The grants form part of a long-term trail planning strategy that aims to maximise community benefits, minimise environmental footprints – and maintain WA’s global status as an off-road riding mecca.

In the current round, grants of $5000-$50,000 are available.

Applications close at 17:00 on Monday, 11th March, 2024.
