WestCycle have been advised by MetroNet that from Sunday 8 October, the Bayswater Station will partially reopen to passengers who will be able to use the two new southern platforms to access the Midland and Airport Lines. The new station includes access via either side of Coode Street, a lift, escalator and stairs, new elevated island platform, bike parking facilities and artwork on the station platform by West Australian artist Nathanael Whale.
The new Whatley Crescent extension road will open on 8 October along with the station and will link Whatley Crescent to Railway Parade and will provide a secondary north-south connection under the new elevated station.
The section of shared path between Meltham and Bayswater Stations will also open this Sunday, with finishing touches including fencing and lighting to come in the next few weeks. Along with previously opened sections of the shared path, pedestrians and bike users will now be able to travel from Meltham Station to Hamilton Street on a continuous path. Works are continuing on the path along Whatley Crescent between Hamilton Street and Guilford Road. This section of path is still under construction due to additional service relocation works, which are expected to be complete by the end of the year. Works are also continuing on the station and surrounding so kindly ask for riders to observe all detour signage.
More information on Bayswater Station is available on the METRONET website.
