EMPOWERING THE NEXT GENERATION OF SAFE RIDERS

FREE, EXPERT-LED BIKE SAFETY WORKSHOPS FOR WEST AUSTRALIAN SCHOOLS

As the peak body for bike riding in Western Australia, WestCycle is committed to making riding safe and enjoyable for everyone. In partnership with the Road Safety Commission, we are delivering the Riding Safely Together program to address critical gaps in road safety education for young people.

Our school incursions are a key part of the Driving Change Road Safety Strategy 2020-2030, designed to reduce road trauma by equipping primary-year students with essential skills to navigate roads and intersections safely.

Availability for Term 3 & 4 2026 is limited so enquire today!

The Workshop: What Students Learn

Led by WestCycle Schools Manager, Josh – who brings over 10 years of teaching experience – these 2-hour practical sessions are designed to be engaging, hands-on, and high-impact.

Key Activities include:

  • On-Road Skill Building: Focused practice on essential maneuvers, including braking, scanning, turning, balance, and signalling.
  • Traffic Navigation: Practical education on recognizing and navigating road signs and traffic structures

Why Host a Workshop?

  • Since 2021, our workshops have already reached hundreds of students, improving their ability to navigate shared paths and roads.
  • These incursions develop positive road safety behaviors that students carry with them as they grow into independent road users
  • By building riding confidence, schools encourage active transport, which reduces traffic congestion around the school gate and promotes healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Educated riders are safer riders. We provide students with the tools to handle high-traffic areas, reducing the likelihood of accidents on the way to and from school.
  • WestCycle is a professional peak body; our programs are fully insured, and our instructors are highly experienced.
