Event Details:

Help reduce suffering for all those living with heart and lung disease. The Capital Breaths & Beats Ride is Perth’s most fun charity ride where you get to ride with patients who have had a heart or lung transplant:
Choice of a scenic 34km river route or a challenging 60km ‘zig zag’ route;
A ride t-shirt (34km) or Pedal Mafia Jersey (60km) included with registration;
A ties and tutus theme for everyone who wants to amp up the fun, event village on South Perth foreshore with music, food trucks, licensed area and kids rides and entertainment.

Grades & Distances:

Event on open roads. Traffic management will be in place.

Scenic 34km – Variant of the Shelley Loop (Easy – no training required). Fully signposted

Challenging 60km – South Perth – Zig Zag Road – Welshpool Road – South Perth (Moderate – recommend for experienced cyclists or if you are a budding cyclist, join South Perth Roulers for training rides before the event). Multiple speed based groups and final ‘no-drop’ group. All groups led by South Perth Roulers ride leaders.

Tim Roach

Elected Director | Off Road

Tim has been in senior leadership and strategic development roles for more than twenty years. He is currently Director of Executive Education in the School of Business and Law at Edith Cowan University and is a past Assistant Commissioner and General Manager in the public service. He is an Accountant (FCPA) and sits on the Divisional Council of CPA Australia.

Tim has been involved in racing mountain bikes, BMX and triathlon for many years, both as a father of two children who race and as a past and current bike racer. Tim is the current over-50 State Champion in downhill mountain biking. He is also a very regular and enthusiastic transport cyclist; frequently seen in a suit and tie riding to meetings in the city on a mountain bike.

Helen Sadler

Independent Director

Helen is a Town of Cottesloe councillor and is the current Chair of WestCycle’s Transport Advisory Group.

A medical doctor, Helen is a strong active transport advocate with a focus on health outcomes and social well-being.
