Over the past decade, the total length of rail trails in the country has increased by about a third, from 2,116 km to approximately 3,200 km today.
One of the most exciting bike riding projects in WA right now is the expansion of the Wadandi Track, after lobbying from WestCycle and others resulted in the government committing $17.5m to doubling the trail length from 54km to a continuous 110km off-road experience from Busselton to Augusta via Margaret River.
Here are some other exciting WA rail trail proposals that have undergone planning and feasibility work by local councils and other organisations in the past year:
🛤️🚵♂️ Kojonup to Pingrup | 150 km
🛤️🚵♂️ Tambellup to Gnowangerup | 95 km
🛤️🚵♂️ Narrogin to Williams | 33 km
🛤️🚵♂️ Beverley to Narrogin | 105 km
🛤️🚵♂️ Wyalkatchem to Nungarin | 70 km
