The Munda Biddi Trail Foundation (MBTF) is a nonprofit association dedicated to supporting the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA) in managing, maintaining, and promoting the Munda Biddi Trail from Mundaring to Albany. The MBTF’s purpose includes aiding DBCA in trail maintenance and awareness promotion, fostering community engagement through volunteer management, and establishing the Munda Biddi as Western Australia’s premier long-distance off-road cycling trail and a global tourism attraction. The foundation’s vision is to elevate Western Australia’s Munda Biddi into one of the world’s top long-distance off-road cycling routes.

The Cycling Development Foundation Inc (CDF), established in 2016, is a nonprofit association dedicated to guiding aspiring young athletes into professional cycling through research-backed coaching and a holistic approach. Additionally, the foundation aims to foster positive and sustainable change in Laverton and its surrounding area, primarily a First Nation’s community, using cycling as a central educational tool. Through comprehensive programs integrating research, nutrition, strength training, and the cultivation of resilience and goal-setting skills, CDF empowers athletes and First Nation’s children for lifelong success, regardless of their cycling aspirations.

The Over 55 Cycling Club is for mature age cyclists. It is welcoming, social and supportive and members ride for fun and to keep fit and healthy. 

The club arranges various activities, including organised rides, camps, tours, social events and training workshops (e.g. cycling skills, bike maintenance, first aid). In addition, the club seeks to influence state and local governments and others to provide the safest possible environment for cyclists.

Established in 1986, Triathlon Western Australia (Triathlon WA) serves as the governing body for Triathlon, Duathlon, Aquathlon, and Multi-Sport in WA, affiliated with Triathlon Australia. Emphasizing strong club memberships for communal training, Triathlon WA advocates for the physical, social, and mental benefits of participation. The organisation strives to foster a community embracing multi-sport lifestyles and embodies triathlon values of belonging, health, enjoyment, respect, achievement, and integrity, promoting lifelong fitness and wellness habits.

The West Coast Masters Cycling Council organises road races for men and women ages 30 and over. Most races occur on Sunday mornings, and give riders access to State, National and International-level support personnel.

Break The Boundary, established in 2012, is a volunteer-operated, non-profit organisation advocating for the accessibility and inclusion of individuals with physical and neurological disabilities in Mountain Biking across Australia. Serving as a central information hub for Adaptive Mountain Biking, they organise annual camps, clinics, and riding groups while providing guidelines for guidance. Their mission is to empower individuals with physical disabilities to explore off-road areas previously deemed inaccessible, fostering a spirit of adventure and resilience. 

Tim Roach

Elected Director | Off Road

Tim has been in senior leadership and strategic development roles for more than twenty years. He is currently Director of Executive Education in the School of Business and Law at Edith Cowan University and is a past Assistant Commissioner and General Manager in the public service. He is an Accountant (FCPA) and sits on the Divisional Council of CPA Australia.

Tim has been involved in racing mountain bikes, BMX and triathlon for many years, both as a father of two children who race and as a past and current bike racer. Tim is the current over-50 State Champion in downhill mountain biking. He is also a very regular and enthusiastic transport cyclist; frequently seen in a suit and tie riding to meetings in the city on a mountain bike.

Denise Sullivan

Chair | Governance & Risk Committee

Denise Sullivan has a career spanning over twenty years in senior management and executive roles in the state public and not-for-profit health sectors.

In her usual role of Director Chronic Disease Prevention with the Western Australian Department of Health, she leads the development of state chronic disease and injury prevention policy and planning frameworks and contributes to the shaping of the national preventive health policy agenda.

Her professional interests cover many aspects of chronic disease and injury prevention encompassing health communications, health promotion and research, public policy on health and workforce planning and development.

She has a particular interest in furthering collaborations with other sectors with a mutual interest in promoting a more active and healthier WA community, and creating and sustaining environments that support this. Denise is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Leadership WA Signature Program, and an Associate Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and the Australian College of Health Service Managers.

Denise is a recreational cyclist and recent convert to mountain biking (although trainer wheels still on!).
