
Join WestCycle as we explore the cultural significance entwined in Perth’s iconic new Boorloo Bridge.
Whadjuk Elder, Aunty Karen Jacobs will share her knowledge about the cultural, environmental and historic significance of the site and how it shaped our beautiful new pedestrian and cyclist bridge.
Then jump on your bike to explore the bridge and parklands, see the artworks and enjoy the views as you complete the Matagarup Kaardajin Bidi (Matagarup Knowledge Trail) before ending with a coffee and chat at Point Fraser.

The bike ride is optional. BYO bike and helmet, all must be in working order and all participants must be able to ride a bike.

FAQ's
- What do I need to bring?
Participants need to bring their own bike and Australian Standards approved helmet. It is also a good idea to bring a water bottle, sunscreen and a hat.
- How far is the bike ride?
It's a short, easy ride across the bridge and to explore surrounds, less than 1km in total.
- Is it suitable for all ages?
Yes however, please consider the riding ability of your children when deciding to attend this event. It will involve the navigation of paths and pedestrians as it is not a closed event. Children under the age of 15 MUST be supervised by an adult or guardian at all times.
- What happens in the event of bad weather?
We ride in rain or shine. Please dress suitably for the weather.
- Where do I park for the event?
We suggest you ride to the event or take public transport if you can.
If you drive, parking is available near the starting point in McCallum Park, near the end point at Point Fraser, or you can park on Herrison Island in the middle.
