WestCycle has been designated as the representative body for eRideable users in Western Australia — a new role that builds on our strong foundation of advocacy for people who ride bikes.
By representing both bike riders and eRideable users, we create a unified voice for better infrastructure and safer streets.
We share many of the same challenges and goals, such as:
✅ Safety for all street and path users
✅ Infrastructure that serves all active transport users
✅ Education to ensure mutual respect and safety
By representing both bike riders and eRideable users, we can:
👉 Advocate more effectively for shared infrastructure improvements
👉 Speak with a stronger, unified voice to government and stakeholders
👉 Promote responsible use and safety across all active transport modes
👉 Ensure the needs of all active transport users are considered in planning and policy

As part of this expanded strategic direction, we introduced a new membership category for eRideable users and welcomed a new dedicated staff member, Tim Burns (left), who will focus on eRiders.
“E-scooters and other eRideables are becoming popular,” Tim says. “When ridden legally, they’re a great option for short trips using the same infrastructure as people on bikes. People riding these devices share many of the same concerns as people on bikes. Together we can have a stronger voice for improving our transport options.”
