WestCycle was at East Victoria Park Primary recently delivering a Bike Fun Day the school randomly won for entering our Ride 2 School Day WA Active Schools competition back in March!
After a healthy breakfast as part of their prize, the children mounted their bikes to tackle the cross country, obstacle and bike maintenance courses under the expert tuition of WestCycle staff and Cyclesense = Excellence.
“The day is a great opportunity for students to experience all things bike riding and celebrate their efforts in riding to school,” said WestCycle Schools Manager Josh Curulli.
“Ride 2 School Day is a great celebration of bike riding that encourages students to actively transport to school and highlights that our streets should be safe, fun and accessible for all.”
About 60 schools from across the state took part in WestCycle’s Active Schools activities this year as part of National Ride to School Day on 21 March, with some registering as many as 90% of students actively transporting to school on the day.
A huge shoutout to all the students, teachers and parents who continue to promote the best way for kids to get to school – under their own steam on bikes!
