WestCycle is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Wayne Bradshaw as the organisation’s new CEO.  

Mr Bradshaw’s early career was largely spent within the sport and recreation sector.  He became General Manager of Subiaco Oval for the WA Football Commission in 1993, and subsequently its CEO in 2002.  After 18 years with the WA Football Commission, Mr Bradshaw established his own consulting business in which he worked with a number of not-for-profit and governmental organisations including City of Perth Surf Lifesaving Club, the Department of Health, and the Western Australian Sports Federation.

In 2013 Mr Bradshaw became involved with the not-for-profit organisation The Fathering Project, becoming its inaugural CEO and most recently being involved in the roll out of the organisation on a national basis.  In his spare time, Mr Bradshaw is also a  keen recreational road and mountain biker.

WestCycle’s Chair, Hayley Lawrance, said “WestCycle is delighted to welcome Mr Bradshaw as its new CEO at this time of unprecedented growth and opportunity for the organisation, as well as for the activity of bike riding in general across Western Australia. Mr Bradshaw’s strong career history in leadership and growth within the not-for-profit, sport and recreational sectors is the perfect platform to take WestCycle forward as the recognised peak body for bike riding, in all of its forms, in Western Australia, and to add value to our diverse and growing membership and stakeholder base”.

Mr Bradshaw said “I am excited to be joining WestCycle at a time of growth for bike riding with record investment in cycling infrastructure and support of WestCycle by the government, highest per capita participation rate in Australia and plans to support all levels of bike riding. The foundation laid by the board, staff and volunteers is a strong platform to continue to grow bike riding in all of its forms as a core part of our community.”

Mr Bradshaw will commence at WestCycle on 15 March 2021
