2017 Adaptive Mountain Bike Camp
WestCycle, WAMBA, Cycletrek Bike Shop & Mountain Bike Park, Mountain Bike Australia – MTBA, Break The Boundary, Rebound WA and South West Mountain Bike Club are proud to be a part of the first ever adaptive mountain biking camp held on location at Kambarang, Lowden in the stunning Preston Valley.
Providing inclusive mountain biking opportunities is just one part of the WA Mountain Bike Strategy and it was amazing to be part of the camp with such enthusiastic participants.
Break The Boundary also had a range of different adaptive mountain bikes on hand for participants who were both anxious and excited to try on the trails.
We hope everyone enjoyed their weekend of camping and mountain biking adventures!
The second Adaptive Mountain Bike Camp to be held in Albany in March 2018. “Enjoy 3 days and 2 nights in the beautiful bush-land overlooking the southern shores of West Australian in Albany for a relaxing and family-friendly camping and handcycling experience. From the coastal bush-land of the Vancouver Peninsula you’ll be overlooking the majestic Royal Princess Harbour – where land meets the sea!”
Below is a mash-up of the weekend’s activities. A big shout out to Sky High Drone Services for the creation of this video.
2017 WA School Mountain Bike Championships
As part of the WA Mountain Bike Strategy implementation, WestCycle in collaboration with Rock and Roll Mountain Biking, WAMBA, Perth MTB Club and Mountain Bike Australia – MTBA proudly hosted the 2017 WA School Mountain Bike Championships on the 1st Sept.
The Championships saw over 100 students from 16 schools battle it out to take home the Title of WA’s top mountain biking school!
Amongst the wind, rain and sun, the constant throughout the day was the smiles seen crossing the finishing line which could have been muddy, dusty or sweaty!
The top mountain biking schools in WA were:
1st Place Mazenod College (Lesmurdie)
2nd Place Carmel Adventist (Bickley)
3rd Place St Joseph’s College
Well done to all of the students participating in the WA School Mountain Bike Championships.
WestCycle, WAMBA and Rock and Roll Mountain Biking are working hard to secure funding for the 2018 School Championships.
