Tasmania will host 156 of Australia’s best junior cyclists for the 2017 Cycling Australia Junior National Road Championships (U15/U17) beginning this Friday.
The three day event starts in Ulverstone with individual Time Trials, a Road Race on Saturday in Sheffield and finishing with a Criterium in Devonport on Sunday.
Western Australia has 26 competitors, with 17 in the State Team and nine individual entrants. Competitors come from clubs in Perth and regional WA, including Bunbury, Albany and Kalgoorlie.
Team WA, including athletes, managers, coaches and parents, arrived in Tasmania on Monday for training sessions and some local sightseeing before the weekend’s events.

Today the team visited the inland town of Sheffield and rode the challenging 16km course which will see the Under 15s ride two loops and the Under 17s four loops on Saturday.
Training on Wednesday will be along the Time Trial course near Ulverstone with an afternoon outing to the Don River Railway.
