The 2019 WA State Road Cycling Championships – presented by The City of Bunbury and supported by the State Government through Tourism Western Australia and Royalties for Regions.

WestCycle are thrilled to announce that the highly anticipated 2019 WA State Road & Individual Time Trial Championships will take place on the 26th and 27th October 2019 in the stunning seaside location of Bunbury.

With the generous support of The City of Bunbury and supported by the State Government through Tourism Western Australia and Royalties for Regions, WestCycle are able to host WA’s premier road racing event in picturesque Bunbury. The 2019 WA State Road Cycling Championships will attract local racers as well as lure WA professional riders to return home from racing in Europe to compete against the best of the best domestic talent.

Bunbury is a fantastic location to hold the event for both athletes and spectators. We look forward to showcasing WA’s elite cycling talent and provide an unforgettable experience for participation Gran Fondo riders in the support event.”

Bunbury Mayor Gary Brennan said it was an honour to have Bunbury chosen as the host city for the championships after hosting the 2018 National Junior Road Championships.“The City welcomes all riders and their families to Bunbury and looks forward to a weekend of action-packed events taking place in our sensational city,” Mayor Brennan said.

The last weekend of October 2019 will be one that purely celebrates the best of Western Australia’s cycling talent. Organisers, sponsors and spectators will have the rare opportunity to witness the best cyclists in WA battle head to head to be crowned State Road Champion.

The event will provide a platform for elite and masters athletes to be crowned champions. A mass participation gran fondo will also be held for non-racers to experience the surreal picturesque beauty that surrounds the South West of WA. The special addition of the gran fondo provides a pathway for participants to experience the thrills of the unique Bunbury course.

The timing of the event allows for several of Western Australia’s European based pro riders to be involved, including Tour de France level and Giro d’Italia experienced riders.

To win against the best is what racing is all about and to have the cream of WA’s talent against the beautiful backdrop of Bunbury makes this a must race event of the 2019 calendar. Course details and entry options will be released soon.
