Swan River Recreational Shared Path (Burswood) Closure

19 November 2018 to February 2019

The Swan River Recreational Shared Path in Burswood will be closed and detours put in place from 19 November 2018 to February 2019.

From 3 January 2019, for approximately 6-8 weeks, as per the map below, the Burswood Park Board will be asking cyclists to dismount and walk their bikes across the lawns.

Burswood Park Board is committed to conserving, maintaining and sustaining the Burswood Park shoreline. As a result, some much needed repair works are being completed to repair and stabilise a 600m section of the Burswood Park foreshore, extending north-east from the Causeway.

The works will arrest and stabilise the shoreline erosion, repair damaged section of the foreshore, and ultimately improve the amenity, appearance and ecology of the area. The foreshore will be revegetated with native vegetation to help stabilise the foreshore, in addition to providing a vegetation corridor for native fauna and enhance the amenity of the park.
