The weekend saw the juniors put on a show at the State Junior Criterium Championships. A hot humid day, made for a tough day of racing but all were up to it.
The U13 Category showed how promising our young up and coming talent is looking, with over 20 riders competing for the championship. The U13s saw Danica Wiggins take out the championship for girls, Laura Hodges and Emma Lendrum taking Silver and Bronze respectively. Thomas Hayward crossed the line first for the boys, to be crowned champion over silver medalilist Sebastian Barrett with Dennis Sellar taking out bronze.
The Wiggins family continued the run of good results with brother Craig Wiggins taking gold in the U15 Boys category, Kasey Smith claimed silver and Bryce Lanigan rounded out the top three claiming bronze. For the girlls Jessica Lawler, claimed gold over Sarah Tucknott, with Jade Haines taking home bronze.
The U17 category was strongly contested with the top three all hot favourites to take out the championship, however it was Niken Jefferies who claimed the honours over Shannon Sherwin who took silver, with Jemila Anderson taking bronze. The U17 boys category was another closely fought contest, with Michael Storer taking out the championship and continuing his hot run of form, and beating other in form riders Darcy Pirotta and Alex Rendell who claimed silver and gold respectivley.
