Track endurance riders Sam Welsford (Western Australia) and Mitchell Mulhern (Queensland) have signed with new teams for 2016 as they look to challenge for selection for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
West Australian Welsford has signed with JML Racing Team for 2016 from Navitas Satalyst off the back of a strong first season out of the junior ranks.
Welsford claimed gold in the team pursuit at the Guadalajara World Cup in November 2014, before taking silver in the points and scratch races at the 2015 Subaru Cycling Australia Track National Championships in January.
2015 has seen Welsford claim the Oceania title in the omnium before claiming silver at the Australian Championships.
Mulhern who competed for BudgetForklifts in 2015 will move to the Satalyst Verve squad for 2016.
The former team pursuit world champion took silver at the Track National Championships before claiming bronze at the UCI Track World Championships.
Mulhern’s track season started in early December in Cambridge, New Zealand where he claimed gold in the team pursuit.
In additional to his track commitments Mulhern raced on the road in Australia, Canada, The United States and Japan.
