RING ROUND 6: RIDERS TURN UP THE HEAT IN GNANGARA

Riders sweltered in a hot and still 35 degrees on Sunday at Supreme Loop, Gnangara. The departure of local pro riders for the Nationals andTour Down Under over the past few weeks has allowed other ridersto step up and contest podium positions.

It was fantasticto receive support from the City of Wanneroo’s Mayor Roberts this week, both as anattendee tothe race, and a great promoter for racing in the Shire.

Anotherhighlight of the day included the great turnout for the Little Critters event, where young riders navigated an obstacle course and were then accompanied for several laps of the course by senior riders. This event has proven to be a hit with the kids so far, so make sure to bring down your young rider to participate in the fun next week!

A fall during the women’s B grade sprint finish put severalriders in the care of St John Ambulance. Fortunately, those involved were able to walkaway with just bruising and no serious injuries. We hope to see them fully recovered in time for this Sunday!

Thank you to Northern Districts CC, Northern Beaches CC, Midland CC, and Roues Chaudes CC for ensuring that this week’s round ran smoothly. The next round of the Ring series will be run this Sunday, January 22 in Pinjarra (Baker Street Industrial Park), from 7am. Make sure to register by 11:59PM, Thursday 19th January.
