Mitchell Freeway Principal Shared Path Diversion (Glendalough Station to Britannia Road, Mount Hawthorn)

2 December 2019 to February 2020
  • Upgraded PSP between Glendalough Station and Richmond Street reopened on 1 May 2020

Detours of the Mitchell Freeway PSP between Glendalough Station to Powis Street in Mount Hawthorn will commence on 2 December 2019 to allow for the construction of noisewalls and will be in place until February 2020.

This extends the existing detour between Bonnievale Street and Britannia Road and will allow for the installation of noise walls and PSP upgrades including widening the existing 2m wide path from Glendalough Train Station to Goody Close to a new 7m wide path separating pedestrians from the cyclists, and widening the existing PSP from Goody Close to Bonnievale Street.

Temporary signs will be installed prior to the detour commencement. The signs will be located at the shared path entry points and will remain in place for the duration of the detour. Directional signage will guide cyclists through the detour route. The effectiveness and condition of detour signage will be regularly monitored.

This detour is part of a series of detours along the Mitchell Freeway PSP, for more information on other detours in the area, please visit https://westcycle.org.au/mitchell-fwy-psp-diversions-leederville-to-stirling-2019/
