What is happening?

As you may have noticed, we are currently undertaking emergency works along Marine Parade, Cottesloe.
We have successfully installed 460 m of temporary above-ground bypass pipeline and pumps along the western side of the Marine Parade footpath. This has allowed us to bypass the damaged main and continue to safely dispose of the wastewater within Cottesloe.

The next stage of the emergency repairs will be excavating the damaged section of the wastewater main. Due to the depth of the main, a section of the northbound lane of Marine Parade adjacent to Car Park One will need to remain closed while we complete the work.

When is this happening?

Excavation and the closure of the northbound lane will start Thursday 5 May and be in place until approximately late June 2022. During this time, the contractor will be working Monday to Friday, 7am to 6pm. Some weekend or night work may be necessary to ensure the work is completed safely and efficiently.

How will this impact me?

As with any construction activities, there will be an increase in noise, dust and traffic in the area. There may also be intermittent harmless odours during the work. Please be assured we are
monitoring the work area to minimise this where possible.

Sections of the Marine Parade footpath along the western side of the road will be temporarily closed, along with half of the parking bays in Car Park One. Traffic management will be in place to
direct cyclists and pedestrians safely around the work area.

Your water supply will not be impacted. Should you have any issues with your water supply, please
contact our faults line on 13 13 75 (24 hours)

Northbound lane closure

The northbound lane of Marine Parade, between John Street and Overton Garden, will be closed until approximately late June 2022. Vehicles on Warnham Road and John Street will be able to
turn left onto Marine Parade during this time.

The bus stop outside the Indiana Tea House will also be closed with northbound buses redirected along Broome Street. Please check the Transperth website for alternative bus stops.

We follow a thorough reinstatement process to ensure all impacted areas are replaced like for like, where practically possible. We will work closely with the Town of Cottesloe to ensure all reinstatements are carried out to an acceptable and high standard
