Loftus Street Separated Bike Lane and Shared Path (Between Richmond and Vincent Street) – Leederville – Construction commences 6 May 2019
Separated bike lanes and a shared path are being constructed along Loftus Street (between Richmond and Vincent Streets) to increase safety for cyclists and improve cycling connections.
The new bike lanes are jointly funded by the City of Vincent and the State Government, through the 2018/19 WA Bicycle Network Grants. Works will start on the southbound bike lane on 6 May 2019.
The lanes include a 1.6-metre wide separated path southbound lane and a 3-metre wide shared path on the northbound side which will travel through parkland on Keith Frame Reserve and connect to Richmond St.
The new bike infrastructure will link to the Bike Boulevard, Oxford St bike lanes and Mitchell Freeway Principal Shared Path and improve cycling connections to and from destinations within the City of Vincent, such as the Leederville Town Centre, Vincent Library and Local History Centre, Leederville train station, Leederville Oval, Beatty Park Leisure Centre, Leederville TAFE and Aranmore Catholic College.
