Fremantle PSP Diversion (near Ashton Ave) – 22 February to September 2018

Main Roads WA is replacing the ageing Ashton Avenue Bridge over the railway in Claremont in 2018.

The old timber bridge was built more than 100 years ago and currently has a 12-tonne load limit. Replacing it with a modern steel and concrete structure will ensure it is suitable for all standard vehicles.

Pedestrian facilities and shared paths will also be upgraded to current standards, along with lighting, barriers, drainage and signs.

Detours will be in place for road users wishing to cross the railway, with a short detour for cyclists and pedestrians that will impact the Fremantle Principal Shared Path.
