FREMANTLE PSP DIVERSION – Subiaco

Updated 20 September 2019

Fremantle Principal Shared Path Diversion (Loftus Street to White Place, Subiaco)

25 February to September 2019
  • The Fremantle PSP was reopened on 20 September 2019 after the Hamilton St Bridge was completed

The Fremantle Principal Shared Path, between Loftus Street and White Place, Subiaco, will be closed on 25 February 2019 to allow the replacement of the Hamilton Street Bridge for approximately 7 months.

The old timber bridge was built 99 years ago and has a 5-tonne load limit. Replacing it with a modern structure will ensure it is suitable for all standard vehicles and provide upgraded shared path facilities. It will optimise the road network for local traffic access and pedestrian and cyclist facilities into the future.

Path users will be directed away from the existing railway reserve path to a detour using Subiaco Road and White Place returning to the PSP at Loftus Street.

Please note: WestCycle was not consulted on the closure and on the detour. We have contacted Main Roads WA and will update any changes to the above plan.
