In 2019, Tour de Cure and the Leukaemia Foundation have partnered together to host the inaugural Life Ride. Driving our combined commitment to finding cures and funding support for blood cancer and related disorders. Life Ride is a cycling event powered by Tour de Cure to raise funds for the Leukaemia Foundation and blood cancer. A team of approximately 160 riders and support crew will take on a 3-day tour throughout the magnificent region of the Margaret River in Western Australia. Join us on the 2019 Life Ride for a very special and rare opportunity to participate in a breathtaking cycling tour and making a difference to 35 Australians diagnosed with blood cancer every day.
Travel dates: 31st March to 3rd April 2019
Personal fundraising target: $3,000
Registration fee: $650 (secures your place on the Life Ride tour as well as provide you with a champ-sys cycling kit, 3 nights accommodation, bus transfers to and from Perth, and catering throughout the event)
Travel: travel to get to Perth is at the participant’s expense. The ride will be stages of loops out of Margaret River, incorporating Cape Leeuwin, Cape Naturaliste and the magnificent wine region.
RIDE: 90 – 115km per stage with limited elevation and an average speed of 24 – 26km/hr.
CHALLENGE: 100 – 150km per stage taking in some local climbs with the average speed forecast to be 27 – 30km/hr.
