East Perth Power Station – path disruption from next week (Monday 12 Sept.)
Development WA has again been in touch with WestCycle, advising of a several week closure of the section of path connecting the foreshore to the path on the northern side of Graham Farmer Freeway.
From Development WA:
“The project team have advised the first full closure will commence this coming Monday, 12 September 2022. This closure impacts the lower ramp of the PSP that is south of the Power Station alongside Graham Farmer Freeway, and connects to/from the foreshore. It is anticipated this closure will be in place for up to 8 weeks, until early November (weather permitting). Note the upper ramp to/from Optus Stadium, across Windan Bridge (east to west), will remain open, as will the Summers Street footpath. However, ATCO gas mains work is underway along Summers Street, and short delays may be experienced in this area until early October 2022.”
We have asked for a detour map to share with you all, which is apparently not forthcoming, however they have advised that “the approved traffic management plan includes detours via the PSP alongside East Parade (Power Station side), Summers Street footpath and the foreshore” and that if anyone requires assistance to plan for their specific journey, they are encouraged to contact Development WA directly, and they will be happy to assist. The project website, with all their contact details, is
https://yoursay.developmentwa.com.au/east-perth-power-station and their email is email@example.com.
As always, if you experience any issues with wayfinding or safety when using the detours, please let us and or the project team know, and we can follow it up.
