SWCC’s Bradley Linfield showed why he is the hometown hero on Saturday evening when he broke away to an impressive solo victory in the Trek Elite Men’s Race at the City of Busselton Criterium.
In front of a large crowd and with the new Busselton foreshore redevelopment as an impressive backdrop, Linfield demonstrated the class that saw him take out the National Under 23 Criterium Championships a few weeks ago. Attacking early on the technical circuit Linfield who came up through the junior ranks with the host club, SWCC showed his trademark confidence and tactical know how as he established a break with Plan B’s Henry Morley. Genesys professional, Anthony Giacoppo tried to bridge across several times before succumbing to working in the bunch with the Eddy Hollands team. As the race unfolded the chasing bunch were worn down however with several riders pulling out as the elastic band stretched too far on the tight corners.
