WestCycle has made the decision to postpone the 2022 Citrus Classic from the scheduled date of Sunday 9 October 2022 to a date to be determined next year. Unfortunately, the entry numbers were not sufficient, which would have resulted in a significant financial loss and potentially an experience that would be below expectations. As always, we are dedicated to delivering an exceptional experience for our participants and on this occasion didn’t believe this was possible.

Although disappointed, the team at WestCycle will use this opportunity to review the format and create an even stronger event that appeals to recreational riders wanting to do either gravel or road categories.

For those who have entered, we will offer a full refund or other unique options. We will email you directly with further information.

Introducing one of WA’s newest Fondos, Round 2 of the WA State Fondo Series: Chittering Citrus Classic!

The Chittering Citrus Classic is a mass-participation recreational ride hosted in the stunning Shire of Chittering, located approximately 75km north of the Perth CBD.

It is time to choose your challenge and choose between three ride distances!  A 100km or 80km Gravel and Tar Course,  or 60km pure Road distance option that will take you on a scenic journey through the stunning Shire of Chittering.

This event is proudly supported by the Shire of Chittering and Sport Australia

A Distance is the ultimate riding adventure, tackling both Road and Tar, over 100km. A Distance riders can expect to complete approximately 1428m of climbing in total, and 25km of Gravel.

B Distance is the perfect option for riders seeking all of the action and gravel of the Citrus Classic, but over 80km. With just over 900m of climbing and 5km of gravel, this is the perfect ride for those wanting to test the waters of gravel riding.

Wanting to stick to the road? C Distance is a pure road course, with over 800m of climbing across 60km – you’ll still get to enjoy all that this stunning course has to offer!

What is a Fondo?
A Fondo is a long distance, timed recreational ride that originated in Italy. Participants compete against the clock rather than each other and traditionally riders enjoy a meal together after the ride. These days there are many variations of offerings of gran fondos with different distances available to ride. This is an individually timed event. You are welcome to ride with other people but times will be noted individually.
