“A” Distance is the ultimate Avon Valley adventure! Get ready to enjoy 93km (2 laps) of quiet roads, rolling hills and fantastic scenery – including the iconic canola fields of the greater York Shire.

“A” Distance riders can expect to complete approximately 1200m of climbing in total. Most of this elevation can be found in the first 12km of each lap, after which you will be rewarded with a long, flowing descent. The remainder of the course features a series of small rises and descents, before turning left to return back to the start of the course.

“B” Distance is the perfect option for riders seeking all of the action and scenery of the Canola Classic, over 52km (1 lap) rather than 93km (2 laps). But, not to worry – you’ll still get to enjoy all that this stunning course has to offer!

“B” Distance has something to offer everyone, whether it’s your first ride or your five-hundredth. Don’t miss out on the first big recreational event coming out of the winter season, and make sure register today!

Registrations are now open for the 2020 WestCycle Canola Classic! Use the link below to register for either “A” or “B” Distances on our entry portal.

How to Register as a Team

Team registrations work the same way as a standard individual entry. Team riders need to each enter individually, but make sure to each enter your team name during the checkout so our system can match your team together. Make sure to use the promo code CANOLA to trigger the 10% discount on offer for teams of 4-6 riders!

If you’re a WestCycle or Cycling Australia Member, your membership discount will be automatically applied during the checkout process.

Entries close on Wednesday the 9th of September at midnight.

Want to be a part of the action of the Canola Classic? We’d love to have you on board!

We are currently seeking Registration Desk Assistants to assist us on the day of the event.

This important position involves being a key member of our friendly event team, welcoming riders to the event, processing their entries and assisting them once they return to the Event Village. Food and refreshments will be provided throughout the day to keep you firing on all cylinders.

If this sounds like a position that appeals to you, please contact us today!

Is this event a race?
No – this is a mass start, organised participation ride. How you participate is up to you! Whether you’re looking to enjoy a social ride with friends in a new location or looking to challenge yourself to complete the event in the fastest time possible, all riders are welcome at the Canola Classic.
What are the terms and conditions of riding in this event?
The terms and conditions for the 2020 Canola Classic can be found HERE.
What is included in the entry price?
Entry price includes your entry fee, timing chip hire, electrolyte and snacks at the two hydration stations.
Do I have to ride in a team to participate?
Riders do not have to be a part of a team to participate in this event – Individuals are very welcome! Don’t worry, you won’t be on your own – you will be started in a wave of other riders who have registered as individuals or as a team.
How do I register my team?
To register your team, each rider will need to enter individually – but make sure to enter your team name during the checkout so our system can match your team together. Make sure to use the promo code CANOLA to trigger the 10% discount on offer for teams of 4-6 riders!
How long will it take to get to the Event Village?
York is approximately 96km from the Perth CBD. Please allow at least 2.5 hours to travel, park and register at the York Recreation and Convention Centre. Please note that there is also a motor show on in York on the same day, so some congestion may be possible. Please allow additional time to travel to the event village. Some detours will be in place due to road closures in the centre of town, but access to the Rec Centre will remain open.

Please be cautious when warming up, and riding to and from the start line as there may be increased traffic on the roads.

What level of fitness is required to participate?
A moderate level of fitness is recommended to get the most out of the event. If you are new to cycling, are a junior rider or have taken a break, we reccomend “B” Distance option for a more enjoyable ride. If you’re a regular rider, you should be able to complete “A” Distance comfortably.
