BAYSWATER STATION PROJECT – WHATLEY CRESCENT AND KING WILLIAM INTERSECTION CLOSURE

Evolve Bayswater have advised the Whatley Crescent and King William Street intersection will be closed to motorists, pedestrians and cyclists for five days from Thursday 7 April to Monday 11 April. People using bikes will not be able to ride under the Bayswater bridge during this time. To cross the railway by bike or foot, you will need to use either the Leake Street underpass or Bayswater Station pedestrian crossing.

The closure will come into effect on Thursday evening.

Other road changes during this timeframe include:

  • King William Street temporarily closed between Murray Street and Railway Parade. Local access between Guildford Road and Murray Street.
  • Eastbound traffic only on Railway Parade between Coode and Drake streets

The detour along Railway Parade will be maintained during the closure.

Whatley Crescent will also be temporarily closed between King William and Leake Streets from Thursday 7 April to Wednesday 13 April. Local access will be maintained between Garratt Road and Leake Street.

The closure is required to set up a 450 tonne and 500 tonne cranes into place for the lifting of bridge beams on site as part of construction of the new Bayswater Station rail bridge.
