Bicycling Western Australia (BWA) and WestCycle are very pleased to announce that recently the Board of BWA met to discuss the best future direction of their organisation for their Members and it was decided that they would pursue and endorse a merger with WestCycle.
Having both the peak body and Western Australia’s largest cycling membership organisation merge together under the WestCycle banner is an exciting advancement for BWA Members and the entire Western Australia riding community.
This decision sets a strong platform that puts the riding community first and foremost in creating a single entity to represent their voice, alongside opportunities to create a more efficient governance and management model resulting in better outcomes for people riding bikes. This follows on from the recent merge of CycleSportWA in with WestCycle.
Putting the customer, the rider, at the centre of our decision making is key to ensuring the future success of cycling in our state. At present WestCycle and BWA are working through the details of how and when this will take place. This is a very exciting time for the future of cycling and we look forward to providing more details as the planning progresses.
