After cancelling the Dams Challenge in 2020 due to COVID, the Team at WestCycle were determined to bring the event back, bigger and better in 2021. And that we did! With over 1,710 participants hitting the start line at Champion Lakes Regatta Centre, on Sunday the 28th of March! Attracting riders from all over Australia, The Dams Challenge really packed a punch. Finishing this ride is an achievement worth celebrating.
It was a privilege to have you with us on the day – and what a fantastic day it was! With 307 entrants taking on the 2 Dams Challenge, 918 in the 3 Dams Challenge and over 485 taking on the massive 204km, 5 Dams Challenge. The weather was warm and the hills were tough on the legs, but riders pushed through and had an incredible day out on the bike, through the picturesque Perth Hills.
General Manager for Cycling, Glenn Te Raki says “What a fantastic day! After the disappointment of cancelling the 2020 Dams Challenge we are blown away by the support from riders, and we looking forward to doing it all again, and more in 2022!”
