WestCycle are thrilled to announce that entries to the 2021 Dams Challenge are now open!
The Dams Challenge is one of the biggest recreational cycling events on the Australian cycling calendar, and Western Australia’s favourite on-road personal challenge.
Riders may choose from three different distance options to suit their experience, fitness levels, and individual goals: the 54km 2 Dams Challenge, the 134km 3 Dams Challenge, or the epic 205km 5 Dams Challenge.
2021 is set to be a particularly exciting year for the event, with a new low price for the 2021 Early Bird period, ending at Midnight on the 31st of December 2020.
2021 will also feature a completely re-designed participants jersey by Subiaco-based cycling apparel specialists, Pedal Mafia. This year’s jerseys feature three distinctive West-Australian inspired colour-ways to match the participants chosen event, and will be sure to stand out on the road for years to come!
General Manager of Recreation, Glenn Te Raki, said: “We are proud to be re-launching this fantastic event for 2021, complete with reduced pricing and a freshly re-designed jersey. It was hugely disappointing to have to cancel the 2020 event due to the COVID-19 outbreak just weeks prior to the start of the ride. In the lead up to the 2020 event, we had almost 2,000 riders registered – a huge increase from previous years, and the highest percentage of female participants ever seen at the event. We are looking forward to continued support in 2021, and providing the best event-day experience in the history of the Challenge.”
“We are also really excited to offer our WestCycle members even lower event pricing this year, plus a range of other perks such as exclusive access to the Couch to Dams program, designed by our training partners, Exercise Institute. Couch to Dams riders will receive a tailored training program delivered through TrainingPeaks in the lead up to the event, plus exclusive month-to-month discounts with our event partners, including Pedal Mafia and Vault Cycle Services. We are proud to partner with local businesses for this event, and hope that our riders enjoy this exclusive program, and continue to support the West Australian cycling community.”
The 2021 event will take place on Sunday, the 28th of March. Find out more and enter HERE.
