SKM To Prepare Strategic Cycling Facilities Plan

WestCycle is pleased to announce that leading project delivery firm Sinclair Knight Merz (SKM) has been awarded the tender to prepare a Strategic Cycling Facilities Plan for Western Australia.

The facilities plan is being prepared to inform and provide advice on the cycling facilities needed to meet the current and future needs of the sport of cycling in WA.

Road, track, criterium and BMX cycling facilities are being covered under the project.

The facilities plan will incorporate both the formal and informal facilities used by recreational and competitive cyclists. By informal facilities we refer to the ‘on-road’ network used by cyclists for training and competition.

SKM’s core team will be led by Kevan Weaver who has an extensive background in sustainable transport planning and has undertaken a number of cycling infrastructure projects in Australia, the UK and Ireland.

We look forward to working with and supporting SKM as the Strategic Cycling Facilities Plan develops.
