Official Munda Biddi Trail Opening

A festival of cycling event will be held in Mundaring this Sunday April 28 to celebrate the official opening of the iconic Munda Biddi Trail.

Environment Minister Albert Jacob will open the trail and welcome 26 riders who will arrive at Sculpture Park after completing the first end to end ride of the Munda Biddi, which started in Albany on April 7.

The Munda Biddi Trail is now the longest and most continuous off-road cycling trail in the world, passing through local towns, taking in 1000km of forests, bushland and scenic river valleys boasting unique flora and fauna and towering eucalypts.

You can find out what the Munda Biddi is all about on Sunday by taking part in free guided cycle rides. Bikes will be supplied and are suitable for children 12 years and over. Young children are welcome to bring their own bikes and join the ride.

The day will run from 10am to 2pm in Sculpture Park, Jacoby Street, Mundaring. Riders will arrive for the official opening ceremony at 1pm.

Head to the Munda Biddi Trail Foundation website for more details.
