Woodside Tour de Perth

The Subaru National Road Series kicked off with the inaugural Woodside Tour de Perth last weekend. Taking advantage of Perth’s amazing geography, the first two days of the tour started on Rottnest Island, stage three was held in the picturesque Kalamunda and the closing stage was raced around Perry Lakes.

Joseph Cooper from Huon Salmon-Genesys Wealth Advisers took the leaders jersey followed by Neil van der Ploeg from Satalyst Giant with Jack Haig from Huon Salmon-Genesys Wealth Advisers in third place.

Structured as a four-day tour, the first two stages consisted of an 80km road race and a 20km individual time trial with the ITT being a stage that a number of riders felt was a defining stage. Back on the main land, the hills of Kalamunda tested the riders through a 140km road race followed by a tough 112km road race in Perry Lakes.

The overall Sprint King Jersey was worn by Samuel Horgan of Budget Forklifts, with the King of the Mountain Jersey taken out by Nathan Earle of Huon Salmon-Genesys Wealth Advisers. The Best Local Riders jersey was taken home by Anthony Giacoppo from Huon Salmon-Genesys Wealth Advisers.
