Held from Saturday 14th to Sunday 22nd March 2015, Bikeweek is all about leaving the car at home and jumping on your bike instead.

A total pool of $30,000 is available for allocation to support local cycling events and activities as part of Bikeweek celebrations.

WestCycle CEO Clint Shaw said now was the time for groups to start planning and registering their intent to host a range of events and activities as part of Bikeweek 2015.

“Bikeweek is all about celebrating and promoting cycling for transport, getting people back on their bikes and raising awareness around the health and lifestyle benefits of everyday cycling.” Clint said.

“The grants program exists to encourage and support local governments, businesses, cycling groups and community organisations to host a wide range of events as part of Bikeweek. Grants of between $500 and $2,500 are available – all groups need to do is complete the online grant application form” Clint added.

In 2014 there were over 40 different Bikeweek events reaching over 90,000 participants all over the State. This is a figure WestCycle is committed to building on in 2015.

In the past Bikeweek grants have gone towards events like bike to work breakfasts, bike servicing workshops, cycling skills sessions, themed cycling rides, bike themed film festivals, bike swap meets and cycling tours.

Applications for funding are now open and close at 4pm on 17 December 2014.

To apply for funding simply complete and submit the online Bikeweek Grant Application Form.

Applicants should read the Bikeweek 2015 Grant Guidelines before applying.

Bikeweek 2015 is being coordinated by WestCycle in partnership with the Department of Transport.
