Since 2011, the program has delivered more than 250 bike skills and maintenance courses to over 4,000 participants across the state.

Today WestCycle is the largest licensed AustCycle provider in Western Australia.  Our network of over 30 accredited coaches work hard to develop the skills, confidence and safety of bike riders young and old.

We are delighted that demand for Be Active Bike Skills is continuing to grow in 2014. This year we have already teamed with a variety of organisations to deliver AustCycle courses and our other bike skills workshops and maintenance sessions to schools, workplaces and community groups throughout Perth and surrounding regional areas.

Some of our recent successes include:

  • Delivering AustCycle courses to over 20 primary and high schools in the Metropolitan area
  • Working in partnership with the RAC to deliver 10 bike skills workshops across the Wheatbelt Region as part of the RAC’s first Cycling Education Program
  • Delivering women-specific bike training in Cambridge, Kalamunda and Cockburn
  • Being part of Bike Week and delivering workshops and sessions throughout Perth
  • Working in partnership with the City of Cockburn and TravelSmart as part of an RAC Community Partnerships grant to deliver AustCycle courses, workshops and maintenance sessions to both adults and children
  • Delivering skills training to seniors in Cockburn, Armadale and Fremantle
  • Working with Brownies and Girl Guides to build skills and confidence
