Tenders invited for Perth and Peel Mountain Bike Master Plan

WestCycle is inviting tenders from suitably qualified and experienced consultants who are interested in undertaking mountain bike master planning in the Perth Metropolitan and Peel regions of Western Australia.

The Perth and Peel Mountain Bike Master Plan will identify and prioritise locations in the Perth Metropolitan and Peel regions that are appropriate for the delivery of high quality, sustainable and sanctioned mountain bike opportunities and experiences.  Together these locations will create a network of nationally, regionally and locally significant mountain bike trails and facilities that meet the needs and aspirations of all abilities and styles of riders in the Perth Metropolitan and Peel regions.

A Steering Committee has been established to oversee the project. The Steering Committee includes representatives from WestCycle, the Department of Sport and Recreation, the Department of Parks and Wildlife, the West Australian Mountain Bike Association (WAMBA) and local mountain bike groups.

The Steering Committee is fully supportive of the master plan, and the Department of Parks and Wildlife have committed $25,000 to the project. However, the remaining funds are dependent on grants and the project will only proceed and a consultant will only be appointed if this funding is secured.

Selection of the preferred consultant and award of the contract will be made on the basis of tenders submitted at this stage. There will be no further tendering process.  It is envisaged that the maximum budget for the project will be $75,000 (excluding GST).

Full details of the project, including expected outputs, consultation requirements and deliverables, are outlined in the project brief:

The closing date for submissions is 4pm AWST on Monday 7th April 2014
